THE I AM FOUNDATION STORY
“A Story about Children, Givingness, Tenacity and Vision”

To feel that you have given happiness to someone else, is the greatest happiness of all; and to know that millions will be inspired by the sublimity of your life ages after you are gone—could anything give deeper joy to the soul?”

- Christian D. Larson

The I AM Foundation stands for children, adults, literacy, self-esteem, love and unity of all people. We are committed to doing our part in creating the more loving and peaceful world most of us all envision.

This organization was founded on the principle of generosity and givingness. We know that all good comes back and there is enough of everything for all of us to share and enjoy.

Where and how we began:

In 1996, the loving dad of a four year old Alexia and a two year old Tyler, Steve Viglione found himself doing something for a career he liked, yet knew it was not his “soul’s purpose or passion.”  Within this year, a vision came through him to write a book for children that would unite kids and parents together through reading.

The energy and excitement behind the sales of the book drove Steve to rethink his career path and do what he loved: writing books for children. As time went on, Steve received so much joy from meeting parents and children and “gifting” them a book that in 1998 he decided to start a non-profit company to gift books to children and adults worldwide. The vision he received was; in addition to giving his own books away, he would also help other authors give their books away to the world.

What does I AM mean or represent for The I AM Foundation?

There are many different interpretations of the term I AM. So you know, The I AM Foundation is independent of any other organizations that may use this same term. We are frequently asked if we are affiliated with The St. Germain Foundation. We are a separate entity.  And we honor the unity we share with everyone in the world. We honor all paths to a higher power or God, if you will.

What people are saying about the I AM! book:

“The I AM book stands for positive self-esteem in children and building their character to think up not down.   Reminding kids to love and value themselves so they can more easily love and value others.

It gives them a positive vision for their future and the confidence that they are significant part of building a better world that works for everyone. “

The name "The I AM Foundation" was chosen because I AM is an affirmation that helps us to validate, value, respect, love and accept our own being as real, alive and worthy. When we totally embody this, we can then value, respect, love and accept others. This is an essential step in the process of peace in the world.

Whatever we say after the words I AM can have immeasurable impact on our lives. So we teach kids to state something positive after the words I AM so their lives are positive and successful.

We also honor every individual. When we recognize that we are really at “one” with each other we can finally relax and let go of the “us vs. them” mentality, which creates illusions and disharmony in the world. Peace has to start within us. To stand for something and be against nothing is to truly feel what peace is all about.

- Steve Viglione, Founder and CEO

"I've read the I AM book quite a few times and continue to be amazed at how it reaffirms the most basic and yet most important values everyone of us should bestow."

- Kenn Cross,

Owner of Kenn Cross Cakeypies San Diego

“ The I AM book gives children hope, self confidence and acceptance. You are making such a difference in their lives!”

-Robin Tarr, Jonathan Tarr Foundation
