What is a Point of Light and what is the goal of the campaign?

A Point of Light is an individual, organization or group that raises or donates a thousand dollars for The I AM Foundation. People can choose to be one or more Points of Light in our 100 Points of Light Campaign. 

The goal is to raise one hundred thousand dollars each year through this campaign. We have exceeded this goal in both 2007 and 2008, delivering a total of 45,000 books to kids affected by Katrina in 2007 and over 27,000 books to children in Croatia and Kenya in 2008. This is in addition to the tens of thousands of books and products we donate each year.

In 2009, we plan to exceed it again, asking you for your partnership.

What does a Point of Light contribution support?

In 2009, our Points of Light Campaign will fund Book Gifting Missions to Liberia and to four regions of India and will also support the publishing of the next book in the I Am series entitled I Am The Earth: Positive Affirmations for Loving Our Planet.

How do you become a Point of Light?

Please call Dr. Marilyn Powers or Steve Viglione at 619.297.7010 and we will work with you on how to fulfill your Point of Light. You will also receive a letter of acknowledgment for your tax-deductible donation.  You can also go to the Donate Now link on our site and make your Point of Light donation on line.

What recognition do The Points of Light receive?

All Points of Light are acknowledged on our website and are invited to attend our annual Points of Light Event in May of each year.
