Dear Steve Viglone and Dr. Marilyn Powers,

On behalf of the Inner City Youth Foundation, we are honored that you have accepted our invitation to the 19th Annual Inner City Destiny Awards Dinner commemorating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., as our Special Guest of Honor. This special event will take place January 16, 2011 at the Sheraton Hotel (Downtown Los Angeles) located at 711 South Hope St. Red carpet reception will begin promptly at 5:00pm.

For the past 18 years, we have honored our unsung heroes in the community whose contributions have impacted and empowered our inner cities. Past honorees and participants of the Inner City Destiny Awards include notables such as: the late Attorney Johnnie Cochran, Congresswoman Diane Watson, Bishop Charles Blake, former LAPD Chief William S. Bratton, NFL’s Reggie Bush, Sweet Alice Harris, Coach Ken Carter, and hundreds of other esteemed honorees.

The I AM Foundation has been chosen because of the excellent programs and services rendered to children worldwide in the areas of literacy and music education. The I Am Foundation represents a progressive example of service to children and because of this you, as the foundation founders will be
honored. We salute you for all you’ve done to make a positive change in the lives of many. Continue to light the path of many underserved children around the globe.

As beneficiaries of your labor, we the Inner City Youth Foundation, Inc., youth and young adults of South Los Angeles add our voices to the chorus which sings in harmony cheering you on higher and higher. Thank you in advance for being a positive influence.
